OK so we got the happy part. well on February 11, 2011 my best friend Breanna Pena passed away. last summer she had been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. she was then put through many rounds of chemotherapy, trying to kill off the leukemia. well eventually it did its job. she was cancer free, but the chemotherapy had permanently damaged her organs. her mom was with her in the room when she died, and meanwhile her dad was banging around downstairs trying obviously very hard to see her before she went back home to live with her Heavenly Father again. of course i was at school, social studies to be exact, when my friend kaleah texted me the news. and of course, thankfully i didn't cry then. but i was talking to my friend Sydney and i tried to tell her, but the shock hit me. i burst into tears and blubbered to her why i was crying. that i think was the absolute worst day. i just hurt all day, and i just couldn't do it. im so thankful for my friends and my family. i got home and me and kaleah got together and just talked and cried. me and my mom went to her viewing the Thursday following her death. i then realize how very little i knew her. just so many different things. i think my favorite thing there was a video of her singing "the climb" by Miley Cyrus. me and my mom went to see her body and i just couldn't take it. i hurt so much and i saw her body looking so peaceful, i burst into tears. that whole evening i saw so many people who had known her from my old school. and i dont think i have ever used so many tissues. i talked to her parents at the actual funeral, which i proudly sang at for her, and went to a private dinner just for family. they invited me, kaleah and jonathen, another of my friends. her dad was just so almost at peace about it. he knew she would be living with God and that he would one day see her again. Breanna looks and acts just like her dad. they both are just so kind and spiritual. her favorite scripture is Matthew 5:14-16 which reads "14 ye are the light of the world. A city that is set upon a hill cannot be hid. 15 neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. 16 let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your father which is in heaven." i loved her so much. she was such a great and wonderful person. she was also happy. i sat next to her in my FACS class, and me being the U of A fan and her being the ASU fan, i would always tell her that i was going to scribbled out the ASU thing on her binder and write U of A all over it. she kept an eye on the binder after that. i honestly have never known a person who was so kind loving and willing to serve others as Breanna did. i just want her to know i love her so much

the bottom one is a pic of a shirt they sell to remember her.
the top one is of us at londons run, at which i ran a 2 mile run. she was there because they were doing it for her. that was the last time i saw her alive, she died the following friday. but her dad pushed her the entire 2 miles, in a wheelchair, but at the end she got up and ran the last lttle bit.
